About the WAWCA

The Wisconsin Association of Worker's Compensation Attorneys, Inc., is a membership organization of attorneys who practice in Wisconsin and who have a special interest in worker's compensation law.  The membership also includes administrative law judges of the Worker's Compensation Division, DWD.   


WAWCA is organized as a non-profit corporation.   WAWCA exists to serve the public interest by fostering and promoting educational opportunities for the general public (including Wisconsin employees, employers and insurers), as well as members of the Association itself on topics relating to Wisconsin workers compensation law.

The following have been elected for the 2010 calendar year.  They are:

The Board of Directors elections results are as follows: [Each shall serve a 3-year term commencing Jan. 1, 2010] 
 
District 5 (counties of St. Croix, Dunn, Eau Claire, Clark, Pierce, Pepin, Buffalo & Jackson):  Melissa Kirschner [4] and Lisa Wiebusch [2] 
 
District 7 (counties of Adams, Marquette, Green Lake, Sauk, Columbia, Dodge, Iowa, Lafayette, Dane & Jefferson:  Charles Soule [17] and Katy Lounsbury [4] 
 
District 9 (counties of Washington, Ozaukee, Waukesha & Milwaukee):  Dennis Wicht [21], Peter Silver [14] and Jeanne Welcenbach [9]

 NOTICE OF ANNUAL MEETING & ELECTION OF DIRECTORS & OFFICERS

The annual meeting of the Wisconsin Association of Worker's Compensation Attorneys will be held during the Summer Seminar on July 30, 2009 at 11:45 a.m. at the Marriott Madison West, 1313 John Q. Hammons Dr., Middleton, Wisconsin.  Elections will be held for the position of Director for Districts 5, 7 and 9. 

District 5 is currently served by Thomas Siedow and covers the counties of St. Croix, Dunn, Eau Claire, Clark, Pierce, Pepin, Buffalo and Jackson.  Thomas Siedow's final consecutive term ends this year so this will be an open seat.  Nominations received for this district are:  Lisa Wiebusch and Melissa Kirschner.   

District 7 is currently served by Charles Soule and covers the counties of Adams, Marquette, Green Lake, Sauk, Columbia, Dodge, Iowa, Lafayette, Dane and Jefferson.  Charles Soule is a candidate for a second 3-year term.  Nominations received for this district are:  Charles Soule and Katy Lounsbury. 

District 9 is currently served by Thomas Niemiec and covers the counties of Washington, Ozaukee, Waukesha and Milwaukee.  Thomas Niemiec's final consecutive term ends this year so this will be an open seat.  Nominations received for this district are:  Peter Silver, Dennis Wicht and Jeanne Welcenbach.   

John Edmondson served as President-Elect in 2009 and has agreed to serve as President.  The current Treasurer is Mark Parman, and the current Secretary is Chuck Hanson.  Both have agreed to serve an additional one year term. 

The nominating committee has received nominations for the following positions:

President-Elect:  Tom Niemiec

Secretary:  Chuck Hanson

Treasurer:  Mark Parman

All District Directors and Officers elected at the July 30, 2009 Annual Meeting will begin their terms for the calendar year 2010 on January 1, 2010
